THE ARTIST'S WINDOW

16 February - 14 March 2015
Spannlandsgatan 6, Gothenburg/Sweden

The Artist's Window is a site-specific exhibition of new visual artwork by Ylva Trapp (Sweden) and Frances Arnold (UK) in the windows of an English terraced house and Swedish high rise flat.

In early February 2015, Swedish artist Ylva Trapp will create and install new artwork for a public-facing window in the Victorian terraced house where curator Hannah Marsden lives in Newcastle upon Tyne, whilst British artist Frances Arnold creates new work for the public-facing windows of the Gothenburg apartment in which artist and organiser Johanna Adebäck is resident. The two art works will then be on view from 16th February – 14th March 2015 within windows facing out onto the street and 'lit up' at night to highlight their presence during the last of the dark winter nights.

The dialogics of place making
24 October, 2013

Arranging workshop in Söderköping (SWE) together with Natasha Rosling.

"The workshop aims to provide a framework for reflection - to experiment with, and build bridges between, the many various roles that can be enacted in the public space. These accounts and reflections created during the day will be developed and form the content of parallel, contrasting and perhaps contradictory chapters of an online guide book.

How do we seek to contradict our ideas and our habits, in order to generate and creatively twist with our own perceptions of an environment? What does it mean to guide? To document and represent a place?
"

The workshop was organized as part of Vision Forum's autumn meeting.
